KaiNotes
Privacy Policy
Effective 21 September 2026
KaiNotes is a private note-taking service. This policy explains what data is processed when you use the web or mobile application and the choices available to you.
Data we process
- Your email address, account identifier, passkey public credentials, and session/device records.
- Encrypted note content and encrypted attachments that you choose to synchronise.
- Operational metadata such as note timestamps, folder names, attachment type and size, and security events.
- Messages you send when requesting support.
Encryption and biometrics
Note text and attachment contents are encrypted on your device before synchronisation. KaiNotes stores encrypted content and does not receive your vault passphrase. Face ID, Touch ID, and passkeys are handled by your device and platform provider; KaiNotes does not receive biometric data.
How data is used
Data is used to provide account access, synchronisation, sharing, security, recovery, customer support, and reliable operation. KaiNotes does not sell personal data and does not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
Service providers
Carefully selected hosting, database, storage, and transactional-email providers process limited data on behalf of KaiNotes. They are used only to operate the service and are subject to their contractual and security obligations.
Retention and deletion
Account data is retained while your account is active and as needed for security, legal, and backup obligations. You may delete individual notes or request account deletion from KaiNotes settings. Residual encrypted backups expire according to the service's backup cycle.
Your choices
You may access, correct, export, or delete your information, subject to applicable law. Device permissions for camera, microphone, photos, and biometrics can be changed in system settings.
